Types of Matrices
Row, column, square, diagonal, scalar, identity. Order $m \times n$ .

Operations
Addition (same order), scalar multiplication, matrix multiplication ( $AB$ needs cols of $A$ = rows of $B$ ). Not commutative.

Transpose & Symmetry
$(A^T)^T = A$ ; symmetric if $A^T = A$ ; skew-symmetric if $A^T = -A$ .

Inverse by Elementary Operations
Apply row operations to $[A \mid I]$ until $[I \mid A^{-1}]$ .
