Lessons
3 concepts
  1. 1
    Slope
    m=y2−y1x2−x1m = \dfrac{y_2 - y_1}{x_2 - x_1}. Parallel: m1=m2m_1 = m_2; perpendicular: m1m2=−1m_1 m_2 = -1.
  2. 2
    Forms of a Line
    Slope-intercept y=mx+cy = mx + c; point-slope y−y1=m(x−x1)y - y_1 = m(x - x_1); two-point form; intercept form xa+yb=1\dfrac{x}{a} + \dfrac{y}{b} = 1.
  3. 3
    Distance & Angle
    Distance of (x0,y0)(x_0, y_0) from ax+by+c=0ax + by + c = 0: ∣ax0+by0+c∣a2+b2\dfrac{|ax_0 + by_0 + c|}{\sqrt{a^2 + b^2}}. Angle: tan⁡θ=∣m1−m21+m1m2∣\tan\theta = \left|\dfrac{m_1 - m_2}{1 + m_1 m_2}\right|.
