Detailed theory
(a+b)2=a2+2ab+b2(a+b)^2 = a^2 + 2ab + b^2; (ab)2=a22ab+b2(a-b)^2 = a^2 - 2ab + b^2; (a+b)(ab)=a2b2(a+b)(a-b) = a^2 - b^2; (x+a)(x+b)=x2+(a+b)x+ab(x+a)(x+b) = x^2 + (a+b)x + ab.
Key concepts & formulas
01
(a+b)2=a2+2ab+b2(a+b)^2 = a^2 + 2ab + b^2.
02
(ab)2=a22ab+b2(a-b)^2 = a^2 - 2ab + b^2.
03
(a+b)(ab)=a2b2(a+b)(a-b) = a^2 - b^2.
04
(x+a)(x+b)=x2+(a+b)x+ab(x+a)(x+b) = x^2 + (a+b)x + ab.
05
Multiplication of algebraic expressions uses distributive property.
