Detailed theory
Use only an unmarked straightedge and a compass. This restricts constructions to those derivable from basic geometry — but many important figures are constructible.

A compass is used to draw arcs and circles.

To bisect a segment, mark arcs from both endpoints with radius >> half the segment.

To construct a 6060^\circ angle, use two intersecting arcs of equal radius.

To copy an angle, use two arcs.

To draw a perpendicular from a point on a line, use two arcs from that point.
